B&M Construction Co., Inc has a strong commitment to provide a safe workplace and has established policies promoting a high standard of employee health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE). To achieve our safety goal B&M has a full time Corporate HSSE Director to manage our safety program. One aspect of the program is a Safety Committee that meets quarterly to discuss current safety issues that need to be addressed. The primary function of our safety committee is to create and maintain an incident and injury free workplace. Our commitment includes an active process to instill safety values in each employee and to ensure that safe behavior is instinctive and automatic. Comprehensive safety training and coaching is ongoing on each project and fosters an environment where workers help each other to work safely. The result of these reinforcements and safeguards is that we have seen dramatic reductions in our Total Recordable Incident Rate and Experience Modification rate. The safety process at B&M encompasses subcontractors and suppliers who are held to our rigid standards and are involved in all aspects of the project safety process.

B&M Construction has received safety awards or letters from several customers, including BP, ExxonMobil, Shell, and Sunoco in recognition for maintaining an excellent safety program.

API is the only national trade association that represents all aspects of America’s oil and natural gas industry. In helping to improve industry safety, API has a way for owners to make sure their contractors have been trained to industry safety standards. API Worksafe is a service station contractor safety qualification program that identifies personnel who have received training for and passed on-line standardized exams covering the latest service station industry safety practices.
